Fashion Workshop
Hosted by Tyrone Lavigne www.tyronelavigne.com

Itinerary:
This workshop will focus mostly on what you need to do to get your foot in the door with agencies. I started 2 years ago shooting for agencies and through trial and error I am now to the point where I work with almost every agency in Southern California. Even if you don't feel you're ready to work with agencies or have no desire to do so, the workshop will also be beneficial in that the topics covered will be able to be applied to any manor of photography as it focuses more on creating solid images without being overly reliant on equipment or post work.
What we'll cover:
The introduction/first impressions
(What do you say when you inquire about working with agencies, what is a good way to get models on Modelmayhem or similar sites to respond, what should your work look like for a first impression)
We'll cover what is expected on their end, and what should be expected on yours.
(Usage, looks, quantity vs. quanity, the "favors", etc)
We'll go over how to communicate with the agencies effectively to maximize your benefit of working with them.
(Discussing concepts, sending call sheets, following up)
We will go over my approach to communicating with the models.
(I feel that communication is the most important thing during a shoot, and I intend to explain why)
And last but not least we will spend the majority of the day shooting (hands on learning is the best method afterall) and we'll go over my style and approach to shooting in order to help you build a book that will help get your foot in the door with agencies, and will also allow you access to more/better models in general.

What you can expect from me:
You will walk away from this with a knowledge of what you need to improve your portfolio and work with a higher caliber of model, and how to use your time with those models more efficiently. Some photographers talk about themselves for 30 minutes and then set up a light and go sit in a corner while the attendees shoot....never explaining the why's or even bothering with a hands on approach. That is not me, I will be very hands on and tell you why I do something, and it's purpose/usage towards the desired final output.
More details:
Photographer/model ratio will be low (3-1), allowing you to work on communicating with the models and developing a good working relationship with them (ie. allowing you to get better photos through trust/comfort)
Models will be listed shortly, but they will be pulled from models I've shot before to ensure a good experience for all with quality agency repped models.

Got the opportunity to chat with Tyrone today about this workshop and trust me, if you have any interest in working with agencies, you will want to attend this!
Feel free to email me photos guys, the agencies said they'd love to see em so I'll gather them all and create folders for each of you and zip the file and send to them. Hopefully it'll get you guys noticed ;)
